Volunteer

Becoming a volunteer is a great way to join the CPS community! We are always looking for volunteers, including individuals, corporations, students, family members and non-profit organizations. Our students benefit hugely from the opportunity to interact with our diverse and passionate volunteers, who do everything from tutoring and raising money to playing basketball during recess.

Volunteers can:

• assist teachers during the school day in math, reading, science, music, PE, Spanish, technology and more
• tutor students one-on-one on reading and math skills
• help run After School Program enrichment activities and sports
• assist with marketing, fundraising and public relations
• supervise students during recess or field trips
• create your own opportunity around your special skills and expertise! Volunteers have organized student plays, taught yoga and chess, starte Girls' Math and Science clubs, and more.
• We ask for a commitment of at least 5 hours a month, with weekly visits preferred, but the more time you give, the more you can teach and learn from our CPS students!
