First Grade Experiences Colonial Times

The CPS first grade had the opportunity to experience "living history" on a recent field trip to Colonial Plantation in Ridley Creek Park. Students toured the working fram, seeing what life was like in the 1700s. They were surprised to see that water came from a giant well and that instead of a stove, the kitchen used a giant pit for a fire. They also had fun modeling children's clothing from the time and looking at children's toys from the era. Although it was fun to learn about life hundreds of years ago, everyone was excited to return to 2011!
