Last week, the second graders had the opportunity to be paleontologists and entomologists for a day as they learned about dinosaurs and butterflies on a field trip to the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. After studying dinosaurs in class, the second graders enjoyed seeing dinosaur fossils and skeletons at the museum. They even got a chance to dig for dinosaur bones! The second graders eagerly guess what part of a dinosaur the fossil may come from. No, it isn't a horn-- it is a tail spike from a stegosaurus! The second graders dig for dinosaur bones at the Academy of Natural Sciences. In addition to learning how long a The class tries to tempt the butterflies to land on their arms. A butterfly lands on a lucky second grader!
