On Wednesday September 9, 2009, Community Partnership School welcomed its 75 students back to school, including a new pre-kindergarten class (the CPS Class of 2016!) This fall marks CPS's fourth year of operation, and the faculty, staff, and students are looking forward to another wonderful and successful school year. After a long, restful summer, students eagerly filed into their new classrooms, adjusting to their new grade levels and gearing up to tackle exciting educational projects. Returning student Justice, a second grader, said that the best part of her new grade is "math! Because it's fun and we get to learn new things!" Third grade teacher Mrs. Estriplet leads her new students in an art activity on the first day of school. This year, the school has expanded to the fourth grade, with the school's oldest students ready and excited for all the new skills they will learn. According to fourth grader Nasir, "We are at another level of responsibility as fourth graders. We are going to be taking on new important jobs for the school." New fourth grade teacher Ms. Harmony Goldstein thinks her students are up for the challenges of their more rigorous grade. "I am excited to see my students progress in all of their academic skills, and especially writing! So far, I have been very impressed with how focused they are during writing time." |
