Authors of CPS Host a Publishing Party

The Community Partnership School first grade is full of excellent writers who have been busily creating stories and books about a range of topics throughout the school year. Today, the first grade invited family members, staff and other guests to hear their favorite pieces of writing for a special Publishing Party.

Guests had the opportunity to travel around the room and read selections from each first grade writer. They also shared their feedback, writing answers to questions like "What was the most exciting part of the story?"

CPS first graders proudly share their Writer's Workshop pieces to their families during the Publishing Party.

Then, each writer read their favorite story aloud to the group. Topics included everything from field trips to the fire station to Thanksgiving meals to dogs.

Afterwards, students celebrated all their hard work with some well-deserved treats!
