High School Students Team Up with CPS

5/28/2009

CPS is excited to continue its end-of-year tradition this spring of welcoming high school seniors to our classrooms!

For the past couple of weeks and through early June, four high school seniors - two from Germantown Academy and two from Episcopal Academy - are volunteering their time, Monday through Friday, working with our classes. Each of these enterprising students has signed up to work with CPS in order to fulfill the Community Service portion of their graduation requirements.

Left to right: Brittani Goodwin, Olivia Wayne, Ian Hillman and Sydney Jacobs.

A little information about who they are:
Ian Hillman is finishing up at GA and is working with Pre-K and 2nd Grade. Ian will attend Columbia University in New York City next school year.

Brittani Goodwin is at Episcopal and is working with Kindergarten. Brittani will begin studying at Spellman College in Atlanta in the fall.

Sydney Jacobs is at GA and is working with 1st grade. She will begin her fall semester later this year at Brown University in Rhode Island.

Olivia Wayne will graduate from EA in a few weeks and is working with 3rd grade. She will attend North Carolina, Chapel Hill next year.

We are proud to have these scholars and role models working with us over the final weeks of school. Most importantly, our kids love them!
