I Left: Ronald performs a magic trick for students. Recently, RMHC awarded CPS a $10,800 grant to support the school's newly-expanded Science Program. RMHC's funding allowed CPS to purchase needed science equipment, like microscopes and experiment materials, and provide students with hands-on, interactive science instruction. In addition to Ronald, McDonalds operator John Dawkins and CPS development committee member Jim Carter, both of whom helped CPS receive the RMHC grant, also stopped by to see how their support has had an impact on the classroom. Students were quick to tell their guests all they have learned in science class, and explain their experiments. Ronald McDonald joins a group of fourth graders in preparing slides in science class. Mr. Dawkins, a former science teacher himself, encouraged students to keep studying and excelling in science and all of their subjects. Ronald and Mr. Dawkins then officially presented the school with a check for $10,800!
Back row, left to right: Harmony Goldstein (fourth grade teacher), Jim Carter (CPS development committee member), Esther Kim (science teacher), Ronald McDonald, Eric Jones (Head of School), John Dawkins (McDonalds operator), Angie McCole (Development Assistant), and David Kasievich (Director of Development). Front Rows: The fourth graders pose proudly with a science grant award from RMHC. The visit was enjoyed not only by the fourth grade, but by the younger grades as well. Ronald visited several classrooms, making both students and adults laugh at a "juggling" routine full of puns and some mysterious magic tricks! Special thanks to Ronald McDonald, John Dawkins, Jim Carter, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region, Inc. for an exciting visit and their extraordinary support! |
