This Week's "First in the News"
It is hard to believe that it is the last week of October. It seems that these first two months of school have gone by so quickly.
The children had a great time studying signs last week. We went on two sign walks and took pictures of signs in our school building and around the neighborhood. We made a class book explaining the signs in our school building and the children are in the process of making individual sign books for signs in our neighborhood. This week, we will finish those books and begin our new literacy unit studying predictable books.
In math this week, we will learn about adding doubles and adding doubles plus one. We have a fun little rap that the children will learn.
Last Week's "First in the News"
We are off to a five-day week and a busy one at that.
This week, we will extend our study of wordless books by working with books that use signs in their illustrations. The children will go on a sign walk this week and will capture photographs of various signs in the building and in our neighborhood. We will use the photographs to make our own individual sign books.
In math this week, we will work on adding in any order and adding using a number line.
