MLK Day Project Notice

IMPORTANT: The date of this project has been changed to the Saturday before MLK Day.

Attention Community Partnership School families, staff members and friends…

On Saturday, January 19th from 9am-1pm, CPS will host its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Service Project.

This year we will meet at Progressive Life Center (PLC) located at 1415 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122 (on the corner of Broad and Master Streets in the Leon Sullivan Building).

PLC is a local child placement agency and we will be on hand on the 19th to create toiletry bags for families PLC serves and to paint two of their family rooms (please dress accordingly).  There will also be a clothes give-a-way and quilt making.  Refreshments will be provided and the PLC Director and other staff will be on hand to work with us.

The following items are currently being collected for donations to PLC:

·        laundry and dish detergent

·        toothbrushes/toothpaste

·        mouthwash

·        wash cloths

·        soap

Even if you cannot participate on MLK, Jr. Day, please consider contributing any of the above listed items.  They will be collected up to and after January 19th.   Donations can be dropped off at CPS’ development office or with Ms. Mary Small at the Honickman Learning Center.

Happy New Year, all, and we hope to honor Dr. King’s legacy of service with you later this month…
