On a beautiful mid-October Friday morning, Ms. Kim, Ms. Budin, Ms. Flores, and the CPS Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes traveled to Styer Orchard in Bucks County, where they picked apples, gourds, and ('tis the season!) pumpkins. They also learned how farmers measure quantities of produce. How many bunches of apples are in a buschel? Just ask one of the CPS kindergartners.

Fourth Grade Learns Spanish!
Simone Jadczak (standing at whiteboard) joins CPS this year as a volunteer Spanish teacher. A Philadelphia native and 2011 graduate of Springside School, Ms. Jadczak is fluent in Spanish, having studied the language extensively in college and traveled throughout South America. Thanks to her time and energy, CPS is able to provide its students with a weekly dose of Spanish instruction.
This week in Spanish class, 4th grade learned the vocabulary for the periods of the day, the days of the week, and the months and seasons of the year.
